Welcome to the Astolat Model Railway Circle website.
Situated in Guildford, Surrey, our friendly club caters for model railway enthusiasts in scales ranging from 0 through 00 to N. We have about 25 active members whose modelling interests span the periods from the pre-grouping eras right through to modern image trains of today. Both standard and narrow gauge are catered for and a number of members have an interest in industrial and mineral railways. Although the current club layouts feature conventional control systems, many of our members have experience in DCC operation and our new Savernake OO gauge layout will be fully DCC.
We meet on Tuesday evenings in Dapdune Wharf's Barge Building Shed on the National Trust property at the end of Wharf Road, right next to the Cricket Ground.
An appeal to any Astolat ex-members.
We will soon be celebrating the club's 50th Aniversary and are interested to hear from any previous club members with memories of the club from years past that we can put into a club history book we are preparing. We also would like to hear from anyone who has an exhibition guide from our 1994 or 1996 exhibitions or from any of our exhibitions prior to 1988.
For further information of the sorts of things we get up to go to Club Nights
We are please to announce that our OO layout Priorsfield (which won Best-in-Show at this year's Beaconsfield Exhibition) will be appearing in the January 2016 issue of Model Rail Magazine.
