
CHACOMBE JUNCTION
The layout depicts a small branch junction station
with a small Goods Yard. It has a limited locomotive servicing
area and a turntable.

and Turning Facilities
With the town of Chacombe forming the
background, a small goods yard with local coal merchant and
locomotive servicing facilities together with a turntable and small
Engine Shed to stable the station pilot provides facilities for
railway and town.
In the foreground is a three platform terminus station comprising
arrival, departure and bay platforms. After unloading
passengers, the locomotive of an arriving train is detatched and the
train repositioned into the departures platform by the station
pilot. The arriving train's locomotive to be run into the yard
where it can be serviced and turned before being re-attached to it's
train. Alternatively a fresh locomotive can be provided for the
return journey.
Boards 3 & 4 - Branch Line Overbridge, Farm and Tunnel
The branch line rises to an overbridge
to cross the main line and passes through a typical rural scene and
runs under the Chacombe Road overbridge.
The main line passes a small farm before it enters Chacombe Tunnel.
Fiddle Yard and Cassette Area (at the rear)
The main line is served by a twin
cassette system which allows a variety of trains to be ooperated.
The branch line terminates in a two road fiddle yard, the whole
branch being operated by a combination of hand throttle and
automatic shuttle unit.
