WELCOME
Welcome to the Astolat Model Railway Circle website.
Situated in Guildford, Surrey, our friendly club caters for model railway
enthusiasts in scales ranging from 0 through 00 to N.
We have about 30 active members whose modelling interests span the
periods from the pre-grouping eras right through to modern image trains
of today. Both standard and narrow gauge are catered for and
a number of members have an interest in industrial and mineral
railways. Although the club layouts feature conventional control
systems, several members have experience in DCC operation.
We meet on Tuesday evenings in a
meeting room at the rear of the Guildford Methodist Church accessed off
Wharf Road, right next to the Cricket Ground.
If you are interested in progressing from a train set to model railway, you
are already a railway modeller or just want to see what its all about,
why not come and visit us one Tuesday. Don't be concerned that
you won't be good enough! Members have joined us fearful of starting
their own layout and by watching and taking part in the construction of
the club layouts, they have gone on to build their own railway.
Our annual one-day exhibition has a fine reputation for showing layouts
covering a wide variety of themes plus excellent trade support and takes
place in January. Clicking "Our Exhibition" on the left will
provide you with details.
We have several model railway layouts constructed by our members on club
nights and these are available for exhibition. Details of
the layouts can be found by clicking "Club Layouts" on the left. If
you would like to see our layouts clicking "Where We Will Be" on the left
gives details of exhibitions we'll be attending and what layout we
are planning to take.
If you'd like us to bring one of our layouts to your exhibition, go to
the "Contact Us" page.
